Fumes on the viaduct. Glenfinnan viaduct, UK.
OK, this one is a straight up cliché, and I’m sure it’ll appeal to all the potter-heads around (that’s the viaduct and the train we can see in the H. Potter movies). It is actually something I wanted to see long before the movies. Around 15 years ago, I spent my summer in the utility crew of a restaurant as a summer job in Fort William. At the time, I knew this bridge wasn’t too far off, but I returned kinda frustrated I didn’t get to see it. So this time, there were no way I’d miss it. So I checked the schedule to make sure I could see the train pass by (FYI: twice a day, in the morning between 9:45 and 10, and in the afternoon around 3:20). The weather was clear, lots of people were already waiting. When the train arrived, it made the boiler steam a thick and white smoke, and honked to the spectator’s joy.
