Rad cab. Hong-Kong, Kowloon, near Jordan. Hong-Kong! I’ve had a very strong appeal for this city for a loooong time. Ghost in the Shell was one major aesthetic shock for me, and even though the movie is obviously a work of fiction, I always thought it depicted somehow accurately the city: a blend of new and old, layers of intricate buildings forming a chaotic maze of people and neon lights. And I was not disappointed. It’s a futuristic city, with roaring, packed districts living under massive skyscrapers. It’s a world city, that seems almost infinite while walking it, and yet, very diverse. And finally, that’s the real Vertical City. I love you NYC, but you now seem really flat.
I realize today’s picture is way too clean and orderly for what I have in mind :/
