Meeting at Phra Prang Sam Yod. Lopburi is a small town, north to Ayutthaya. One district is full of crab-eater macaques, as one temple of the city is dedicated to them (it’s actually facing this one, on the other side of the railway). Those guys aren’t afraid of anything, and provided you have something that looks eatable, they’ll jump all over you and still anything of interest.
Lopburi is fairly small. That’s the place where Louis XIV’s ambassadors met with the king of Siam in the 17th century. Couple of months later, a Siamese delegation was sent to France. Those meetings never brought anything, as when the king died, the French ambassadors were firmly invited to go back to France. One of the only memories left of that time in France is the Siam street in Brest, baptised in honour of the Siamese ambassadors.
chouette photo, chouette histoire (j’aurai appris quelque chose !) mais je trouve encore la photo un peu foncée…
comme marie au lait je la trouve trop foncée.
Amazing shot, great composition!
