Tired of the long road that goes from Key Largo to Florida City, we decide to stay to one of the closest places to the Everglades we could. Less than a mile from route 1, on the way to the national park, our youth hostel welcomes us. Yes! We are &#8220;the couple arriving from Key West that calls earlier, and no, don&#8217;t worry if you forgot our names (even if you made me spell it twice)&#8221;! The place reminds us from the one we went to in Venice Beach: cool hippie atmosphere. Or what we imagine &#8220;hippie&#8221; would be: open, friendly, trustworthy and a pinch of &#8220;whatever-ain&#8217;t-that-bad-anyway&#8221;. By the time we get back from getting food and drinks, the fire is cracking. We seat down, it warms us as the night falls.
